Bruno ("Bruno," "we," "us") is an AI apartment and roommate concierge for New York City, operated by A&C Nightlife Vending LLC. This policy explains what information we collect when you use Bruno by text message or on our website, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Renters: your mobile phone number, your first name, the text messages you send us, and the details of your apartment search (move-in date, budget, neighborhoods, bedrooms, must-haves), tour availability, and feedback about apartments you toured. We also save who invited you to Bruno and how you heard about us.
- Renters looking for roommates: your age, school or job, living habits (such as schedule, cleanliness, guests, noise, pets, and smoking), the roommate preferences you share, and your feedback about potential roommates. If you choose a roommate phone call with Bruno, the call is transcribed, and Bruno tells you so at the start.
- Agents: your name, brokerage, mobile phone number, email address, New York real estate license number, the listings you add, and the text messages you send us.
- Website: basic technical information your browser sends, such as IP address and pages visited, used to keep the site running and secure.
How we use it
- To match renters with apartments that fit their search.
- To suggest potential roommates, set up intro meetings, and start group texts for roommates searching together.
- To schedule tours, send confirmations and reminders, and pass messages between a renter and the agent showing an apartment.
- To reply to your messages and provide support.
- To verify agents' real estate licenses with New York State's public license records.
- To keep Bruno safe and improve how well it works.
Bruno's replies are written by an AI system. We do not use protected characteristics (such as race, religion, national origin, sex, disability, familial status, or source of income) to match renters with apartments. For roommate matching, we may use preferences you share about who you'd like to live with, such as gender or age range.
How we share it
- With the agent for a tour you request: we share your first name, your group size, and your availability. We share your phone number with an agent only if you ask us to (for example, to tell the agent you want to apply).
- With potential roommates: when Bruno suggests you as a roommate match, the other person sees your roommate profile: first name, age, school or job, budget range, move-in date, neighborhoods, and a summary of your living habits. We don't tell anyone who said no to a match. We share your phone number with a potential roommate only if you agree, or once you join a group text together.
- With your roommates: once you're searching together, Bruno starts a group text, where everyone sees each other's phone numbers and messages. Your share of the budget stays private; your group sees only the total.
- With renters who request a tour: renters see the agent's first name. We do not share agents' phone numbers with renters.
- With service providers who help us run Bruno, such as our text messaging provider (Twilio), our AI provider (Anthropic), and our website and email host (Cloudflare). They may use the information only to provide their services to us.
- When required by law, or to protect the safety and rights of our users and the public.
Text messaging and mobile information. We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
We do not sell your personal information.
Text message consent and opting out
Renters opt in to Bruno's text messages by texting Bruno first. Roommates invited by a renter opt in the same way, from their own phone; Bruno never texts a number someone else gives it. Agents opt in by checking the separate text message consent box when they sign up. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP. Reply HELP for help. See our SMS Terms for details.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while you are using Bruno and for a reasonable period afterward to provide support, keep records, and meet legal obligations. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your choices
- Reply STOP to stop text messages. Reply START to resume.
- Email [email protected] to ask what information we have about you, to correct it, or to delete it.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Age
Bruno is for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
